    Domestic violence and child abuse / battering is a growing problem in America. The USA is following the traditions of the New Zealand slums, and some Middle-Eastern countries in which domestic violence is nothing out of the ordinary. This is a powerful dissertation on domestic violence. The paper describes in detail, all of the aberrant behaviors and effects of the behaviors on victims. This study is a PASTORAL ANALYSIS based on Dianetics, and the movie "Once Were Warriors" by the New Zealand Maori. The paper seeks to alleviate and mitigate the suffering, guilt and shame of the domestic violence victim.

    The approach to the domestic violence problem is unique in this literature. When coupled with viewing of the movie, the net effect is that the victim learns how to cope with the abuse, why it happened, and is more easily able to escape the situation.
