In this time, I've seen and heard many gross and despicable things; I've seen a president and civil rights leaders murdered, been through a war (Vietnam) where I had an innocent 8 year-old child die in my arms, was married for nine years to a woman I dearly loved, been lied about, lied to, been a political prisoner, had my web site censored by Nazis in our own government, and witnessed more corruption in the government than I could possibly mention here. I saw the twin towers fall, and only by the evil that the good Lord permitted to happen to me, did I escape death that fateful day. Yes, they meant evil against me, but God meant it for good…[1]
As a Vietnam veteran, I must express my disgust at Fred Phelps (photo, left from his web site)[2] the Westboro Kansas Baptist Church preacher who is picketing the funerals of Iraq war vets because in his twisted and demented interpretation of the scriptures, he somehow associates Al Qaeda mortar, rocket, and I.E.D. attacks on those soldiers as retribution from God for this country's tolerance (and tolerance, unfortunately, is all it is) of gays. What would Jesus do? I'll tell you... Jesus would not condemn them... Jesus would sit and talk with them, and eat dinner in their houses just like He did with the publicans, the harlots, the adulterers, thieves, miscreants, and the rest of us hopeless sinners. Yes, God rained down fire and brimstone on Sodom and Gomorrah, but what we are doing in this country with abortion; rationalizing it as a “right to choose”, makes Sodom pale in comparison. Jesus would sup with the abortionists too. Jesus said to pull the beam out of your own eye first, so that you may see to be able to take the mote out of your brother's eye.[3] Jesus said to love your neighbor as you love yourself.[4] Jesus said that he, who is without sin, should cast the first stone.[5] Jesus said judge not, that you might not be judged.[6] Jesus said vengeance is mine; I will repay.[7] Jesus said that if you commit one sin, you might as well have committed all of them.[8] Paul wrote, there are none righteous, no, not one.[9] The prophet Isaiah wrote all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags.[10] James, the brother of Jesus said that if a man knows how to do good and doesn't do it, to him it is a sin.[11] My question is simply this: Who appointed this sanctimonious, self-righteous scumbag (it's enough to make Korsbyski swear) to be our moral arbiter? Who is this psychopath calling himself a Baptist? Look... understand... As a Bible-believing Christian, I cannot give my “blessing” to homosexuality. I absolutely abhor infanticide (abortion), but I cannot become the devil in order to defeat him. Homosexuality is a paraphilia (see my essay The Homosexual Paraphilia, and my book The Sexual Paraphilias - Therapy by Hick-Farmer Sigmund Freud Wannabes). Abortion is not “choice”; it is premeditated murder, and Roe v. Wade was not argued on the basis of privacy, but the human fetus was dehumanized, just as the Nazi war criminals dehumanized the Jews so that it would be “legal” to exterminate them. I cover this topic in “Psychiatry, Mind Control, Genocide, and Infanticide”, and in a booklet entitled “Please Don’t Do This” By dehumanizing babies, we escape (or try to) the conviction of conscience when we murder them. By calling gays “sinners”, and punishing the families of honorable Americans who died in the service of their country, this demented psychopath puts himself in unenviable company. And by the way… I’d like to ask a question… What the hell does the funeral of an honorable American soldier have to do with homosexuals or Hurricane Katrina? The “Reverend” Fred Phelps is NOT a Christian by any stretch of the imagination. REAL Christians are happy, because they know that all things work together for good for those who love God.[12] REAL Christians would not encourage sinful behavior, but being sinners themselves, would not persecute others for theirs; quite the contrary, those Christians who most emulate their namesake, Jesus Christ, would love their neighbors no matter what their race, color, national origin, sex, or sexual orientation. This king of self-righteous arrogance and “holier than thou” posturing makes me physically ill; it’s enough to make a sane person toss his or her cookies. This “preacher” gives Christians a bad name. I’m not one to judge, but if I had to bet… if I were a betting man, I’d say that on his last day, the Reverend Phelps would hear those Biblically dreadful words from the one who he claims to speak for; “… depart from me, I never knew you”.[13] There is a thing called “Agape’” (a Greek word that literally means “undeserved love”). A TRUE Christian, loves everyone… we can hate the sin, but love the sinner. For Christians, love (Agape’) is not an option. So I, as a Christian, must Agape’ Reverend Phelps… nobody said the Christian walk was going to be easy. I also have a secular message for the “God Hates gays” pastor: It is a well-known fact that we hate most in others, what we secretly harbor in ourselves. Reverend Phelps must have fought, or is fighting a secret sexual proclivity that he has been taught to abhor. The dissonance aroused in his own mind between his God-given ethics and morality, and what he secretly seeks to do (or is doing on the “down-low”), drives him to vicariously punish himself by making the lives of innocent people miserable. If Pastor Phelps wishes to “rightly divide the Word of Truth”[14], and ascribe meteorological anomalies to the directed wrath of God, then here is something to think about: In Kansas, it occurs to me that a closet homo-preacher railing against innocent people should watch his barometer 24/7, because God told ME that He’s sending a tornado your way. Soon, you won’t be in Kansas, anymore! Follow the yellow brick road… go and see the Wizard… get some HELP! God Bless You.
