"....this is a people robbed and spoiled; they are all of them snared in holes, and they are hid in prison houses: they are for a prey, and none delivereth; for a spoil, and none saith, Restore". - Isaiah 42:22 KJV
Someone in this world has to advocate for prisoners. The Bible passage from Isaiah is as true today as it was in the prophet's time. Lord, we ask you to enlighten the people of the world - give them the faith that it takes to refrain from seeking State-sanctioned vengeance, and the love that it takes to love the offenders back to spiritual health. Lord, please bless the prison ministries who seek to undo the spiritual damage done to men and women by an unforgiving, incompetent, and thoroughly corrupt criminal justice system - it IS criminal!. Lord, bless and prosper your ministries to the forgotten, abused, and exploited men and women behind bars. Give them the spiritual discernment to see the errors of their ways, and set them on the path towards healing and reconcilement. Lord, we know that we cannot un-do the wrongs we have done in this world. Inasmuch as it is possible - and with you, Lord, everything is possible - reconcile the offender to the offended; heal the perpetrator and the victim, and heal the society that perpetuates the injustices. We know that the days of the world are numbered - and then you will return and reign for a thousand years. We see the signs and we wait with bated breath for the peace that passes all understanding. Lord, we ask that you bless the prisoners with a bit of silence in their shattered world. We ask that you give the victims of crime the strength and the grace that it takes to forgive. And Lord, where a life has been taken, we know that this life is not all there is. Help the loved ones make it through the rough times, and help them understand that nothing happens in this word - not even a sparrow can fall from the sky - if it is not your will. Lastly Lord, please bless the readers of this prayer - motivate them through what they see - so that they may become the vessels of your peace. You said in your word: "Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was an hungered, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungered, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me". - Matthew 25:34 - 40 KJV

In a country which has 6 to 19 times the incarceration rate of other Western countries, the United States in particular, cannot afford to deny the healing power of the Lord Jesus Christ on the souls of the men and women this society has all but discarded. I have personally witnessed and experienced the love of Jesus Christ through the Christian brothers and sisters that minister to prisoners. Kairos Prison Ministry is a world-wide effort, and its growth over the years is the blessing of Jabez - the increase in territory or "coast" that comes with doing the Lord's work. I encourage the reader to become involved with Kairos Ministries - and don't let prison bars or the reputations or "rap sheets" of these men and women fool you. Many volunteers have commented that they've never experienced anything like the Kairos volunteer experience on "the outside". I know for a fact that many of the prisoners have never experienced anything like this either. What Kairos does is nothing short of miraculous. I ask that you support this ministry generously, and I encourage you to contact them and get involved yourself. Believe me - I do not make endorsements like this lightly... If you do as I ask, you will be blessed beyond your understanding. If you click on the logo, you will see a short video presentation , and hear a song "Kairos" by Jack Kapanka, which is very moving.
